The Miles Platting Plodders

The Miles Platting Plodders is an established walking group for older people who prefer to walk as part of a group at a gentle pace.

The group meets every Wednesday at 10.15am at either Trinity Methodist Church, Ancoats (every 1st and 3rd Wednesday) or outside Morrisons in Piccadilly (on the other Wednesdays). New members are always welcome and the group is well known as a friendly, chatty bunch. After their 'out of the city' walks members usually stop at a cafe for a spot of lunch.

The group participates in local walks or members travel together on public transport to enjoy walks further afield and have previously walked in and around Wythenshawe Park, Heaton Park, Hollingworth Lake and Fletcher Moss Gardens.  The group is developing its new programme of walks for July onwards and is happy to share details with anyone wanting more information.

After seven years of leading the Plodders, Diane will bid the group "farewell" and begin her journey into retirement. Everyone at the Age Friendly Manchester team and the Plodders wishes Diane well - we will miss you!! We are confident the Plodders will keep on plodding with Donna Smith taking over as walk leader. For more information about the group contact Donna on 0161 914 9623 or email donna.smith@ageukmanchester.org.uk
