Go along and attend the informal recruitment and training evening where you can learn more about the work the organisation does to help reduce social isolation and loneliness.
You will be asked to fill out all relevant paper work to become a befriender and they will get to know you a little better and answer any questions you may have.
You can discuss what you can expect to experience and achieve as a befriender and find out what support and training is offered to enable you to be a confident and successful befriender, making a real difference to an older person’s life.
The training will be concluded with a Dementia Friends session, providing you with some basic information about Dementia.
