Exhibition runs from 3 October – 6 December at Salford Museum and Art Gallery, Peel Park, Crescent, Salford M5 4WU
Over the last two years, volunteers have been digitising thousands of images from Salford’s 70,000-strong local history photograph collection. People from across the city and beyond have chosen photographs of the streets, buildings and events that mean the most to them. Thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, these will shortly be accessible online for the first time, with the launch of our new searchable website, www.salford.photos.
An exhibition will also be opened on 3rd October to mark some of the creative ways in which the people of Salford have responded to these photographs, including photography, visual art and animation.
