Golden Voices Community Choir - Celebrating singing together for over five years

Over recent years, singing as part of a choir has become very popular, particularly since Gareth Malone helped to launch the beautiful Military Wives choir who topped the charts at Christmas 2011 with their song, "Wherever You Are". Since then more and more Community Choirs have formed up and down the country.  One of Manchester's very own, open access Community Choirs - The Golden Voices, rehearse each week at Band on the Wall on Swan Street.  Being an open access choir means that people who have no previous experience of singing can join.

Rehearsal dates throughout September and October are: 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th September and the 1st, 8th, 22nd and 29th October. All sessions are held at BOTW apart from the 17th September when rehearsal will be at Halle St Michael. Prospective new members are welcome to pop in and join in a rehearsal before signing up as a member. There is a small weekly charge.

As well as enjoying a new activity and meeting new friends you'll also be improving your health - regular singing can improve your breathing and posture and will hopefully make you feel happier. The Choir has always been regarded as more than a singing group, “we’re a friendship group”, say the Golden Voices.
