Community Alarm Service - Annual Report 2014 - 15

The Community Alarm Service (CAS) provides a range of 24/7 services which support our most vulnerable customers by helping them to remain independent in their own homes. The service prevents the unnecessary admission of Manchester residents into hospital, long term residential care or having to face the upheaval of having to live with relatives.

The service provides the reassurance to our customers and their relatives that if help is needed, the customer can simply press their community alarm pendant, which will immediately open a telecommunications link with our operator in the Control Room. Where necessary, an appropriate home visit response would then be arranged by CAS. Where necessary, CAS will inform one of the Greater Manchester "blue light" services, be it the ambulance, police or even fire services on behalf of customers.

For more information about the service or for details about viewing the Annual Report contact Donna Conway on 0161 273 2574.
