Discover Peace Trail

Interested in looking at Manchester in a different way?

The City Council is a partner in a European funded project that has developed a new Manchester City Centre Peace & Justice Trail. The Trail is available in a small booklet / website and it outlines some of the people, ideas, movements and organisations that have brought about some of the major social developments in Manchester's history.

Relive the events of Peterloo, the campaign for the vote, the abolition of slavery, the birth of trade unions and the co-operative movement and the struggle for a just and more tolerant city, country and world.

We are keen to get the views of people from all ages and the day will also include free refreshments and lunch. If you would like to attend this seminar please email Catherine Roberts -  catherineroberts_ms@yahoo.com  or Sean Morris, Manchester City Council – s.morris4@manchester.gov.uk or ring Sean on 0161 234 3244.

The seminars will be held on June 12th and 26th starting at 10am in the Town Hall.  Full walks of the Trail will take place on the 13th and 27th June.
